Shimmy
My contribution
Conducted on-the-ground research interviews with Shimmy trainers, then co-created a learner's journey and a Train the Trainer playbook.
The challenge
Shimmy is an ed-tech company upskilling fashion manufacturing workers, specifically women in Bangladesh, and needed a system to support 3,000 women seeking machine-operator roles as job requirements evolve.
My approach
- Conducted research interviews on the ground with the help of Shimmy trainers, collecting data and synthesizing it into themes that shaped a learner's journey.
- Captured opportunities for design based on the gaps and needs identified in that learner journey.
- Co-created a Train the Trainer playbook and built microcourse prototypes, using Bloom's Taxonomy to shape clear learning objectives.
What changed
A research methodology for local leaders to collect quantitative data, plus a learner's journey that blends mobile devices, local training locations, neighborhood cafes, and in-factory training modes.
