The tool is only part of the story.

I've spent eight years standing between new technology and the people expected to use it. At Desklight it was learning design for McGraw Hill, Smithsonian Affiliations, and Savvas. Now, at The Knowledge House, it's AI, and it's the most interesting work I've done.

I lead a team of five Career Specialists across six regions and build the curriculum, systems, and training that support them. This year that meant teaching a non-technical team to use Claude and Gemini every day, writing the rules for doing it responsibly, and building a few working tools myself because we needed them.

I'm trained in human-centered design (IDEO U), hold an MBA, and recently finished Vanderbilt's Generative AI Leadership and Strategy specialization, with Duke's AI Product Management specialization underway. I'm also an Asana Ambassador. The human-centered part started earlier than IDEO U: I'm Jesuit educated (Loyola University Maryland), and cura personalis, care for the whole person, is still the test I hold my work to.

Kilter HQ is my consulting practice, kept small on purpose. I take on workshops, speaking, and the occasional short engagement for nonprofits and small businesses. This site is where the work lives.
